Ecovacs Deepoo D56 review

The Ecovacs Deepoo D56 is the second vacuum cleaner robot that we have had in the last few months. Although this model is only the second cheapest floor cleaning robot in the Ecovacs portfolio, it offers everything I expect from an average robot.

Introduction

I am not sure if Ecovacs is the largest Chinese robots producer or not, but it is safe to say that they are the most important in the Asian country. The currently offer five vacuum cleaning, two air purifying and two window cleaning robots. The five floor cleaning bots are technically two models with slightly different feature sets and accessories bundles. The higher end version comes in two flavors (D76 and D73), and I have more or less covered it in my Deepoo D76 review, while the other three models (D54, D56 and D58) are based on a slightly modified base. I would consider these three the entry level models of Ecovacs, although some of them would be higher end models even at iRobot. They all come with a docking station and provide some kind of scheduling to fully automate the floor cleaning chores.

The subject of this review will be the pink Deepoo D56 (or Deebot D56 as it is called on some markets) that sells in the €200-250 price range in Europe.

What’s in the box?

The Ecovacs Deepoo D56 comes in universal box that was designed to hold all three entry level Deepoos. The box in this case holds the following items

  • Deepoo D56 robot
  • docking station
  • spare side brush
  • cleaning tool

The Deepoo D58 adds a remote control, a virtual wall and a magnetic tape to this bundle for a slightly higher price, while those who want to spend less will have to live with a smaller LCD and the simple scheduling provided by the D54 (repeats cleaning every time at the same time when it was started on the first day of the routine).

The review is not over yet!
