RobotBG is live from CES

RobotBG has arrived to CES

After one year and a long Transatlantic flight RobotBG.com is back in Las Vegas to cover all the bits and pieces of the robotic novelties from the halls of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). We have already seen that Samsung will have something exciting new to check out, but we have an appointment to iRobot as well to see the two new outdoor robots. I expect LG to bring it's HomBot Square to the new world after it has been announced at IFA in Berlin a few months ago.

iRobot Mirra 530

Besides the new gutter cleaner robot, iRobot has introduced a new autonomous pool cleaning device the Mirra 530 as well. The robot, being the first member of a new lineup cleans the bottom, walls and stairs - including the waterline - of in-ground residential swimming pools. The new iAdapt Nautiq system helps the robot determine the size and shape of the pool to optimize the cleaning pattern. The built in filtration system circulates 265 l (70 gallons) of water every minute and can collect all debris from the water down to 2 micron in size.

iRobot Looj 330

We are just a few days away from CES, the largest consumer electronic trade show of the year, so from now on we can expect the new robot announcements to arrive. The first in the line was iRobot that introduced the third generation of its unique gutter cleaning robot. The iRobot Looj 330 helps house owners to clean the gutters without all the hassle and risks that are usually involved in the process. The Looj can clean 1.8 m (6 ft) of straight gutter every minute up to ~60 m (~200 ft) with a single charge of the battery.

Smart Tango Corner Clean

Samsung Smart Tango Corner Clean

In preparetion for CES 2013 Samsung has released some product images of its new robotic vacuum cleaner the Smart Tango Corner Clean. It's general shape remains the same as that of the last generation, but the side brushes got a new position: instead of being on the main body of the disk shaped robot, now they are fitted on two pop out arms (Pop-out Brush, as Samsung calls it, one on each side). This allows the brushes reach deeper into the corners than before. The Smart Tango Corner Clean seems to be the answer to LG's HomBot Square announced in last September just before IFA.
