Ecovacs Deebot D66 and Deebot D68

Ecovacs Deebot D68

Ecovacs has had two new robotic vacuum cleaners on display at IFA this year. Both models belong to the new Deebot D6 series which goes right between the well known D5 and D7 series. The new models sport scheduling, dust sensors and longer side brushes (by 15 mm). The Deebot D68 has side brushes on both sides, while the D66 comes with only one side brush. The side brushes pop out without any tool, what makes the maintenance of the robot easier (although a coin is still needed to remove the frame of the main brush). The D6 series looks similar to the D5 series, but it has two notable design differences. The user interface was significantly redesigned and it is now controlled by 4 buttons. The other modification is visible on the docking station. All previous Deebot models had a docking station that had blocked the user interface of the robot, those were difficult to start and program without a remote control. Ecovacs has changed the shape of the dock top that is now a significantly narrower than on the previous docks, therefore it only blocks the middle part of the user interface.

The Ecovacs Deebot D68 can also recognize when it is in smaller areas where it automatically changes to a tighter zigzag pattern to clean the areas more efficiently. Both models can be scheduled to start cleaning at the same time every day.
