Friendly Robotics Robomow RM510

« Previous Next »

Friendly Robotics has updated its robotic lawn mower line with the Robomow RM510. The new robot is the successor of the RM400 model, that is now able to mow lawns up to 500 sq m (~5400 sq ft). The larger area mowing capacity is achieved with the smart adjustment of blade rotation. When the mower is used regularly, it only has to cut a little bit at each occasion. When thinner grass is sensed, the robot lowers the rotation speed to 75% of the maximum (5800 RPM) saving enough power to mow larger areas.

To provide extra protection to the shiny plastic shell, Friendly Robotics has added a black rubber coating around the edges. The operation noise was slightly reduced from 85 dB to 80 dB (80 dB max, 77 dB normal) by replacing the gears by belts in the drive system.

The Robomow RM510 is a fully autonomous robotic lawn mower that comes with a docking station and scheduling options. It is designed to handle smaller residential lawns up to 500 sq m several times a week. Its rain sensor prevents the robot to ruin the lawn during and immediately after rain. Most other aspects of the lawn mower, including the batteries, are unchanged since the RM400 model.

The Friendly Robotics Robomow RM510 is already available in Europe for around €1300.
