LG leads Korean market for seven months in a row

« Previous Next »

According to a Korean press release, LG maintained its leading position in the floor cleaning robot market in South Korea for seven consecutive months. Thanks to the aggressive marketing activities, brand awareness has grown from 30% in January to 69% in September. LG's market share on the robotic vacuum cleaning market was 49.1% in this September, what is more than twice as much as it was last year. LG shares this market with Samsung, iClebo and a few other, smaller brands in Korea.

The success mainly came from the introduction of the 5th generation or Roboking robots. They not only sport two cameras for better navigation, but use lithium-polimer battery for smaller overal size and longer operation times between charges. LG has also managed to lower the level of noise the Roboking robots emit to 50 dB (as opposed to 60dB earlier).

In September this year LG started to push Robokings to overseas markets. Robokings have already showed up in France and in Italy, but they will soon be available in Asia, the Middle East, and Central and South America. There is no word about other European or North American markets.
