Husqvarna launches Automower Solar Hybrid

Husqvarna Automowers are designed to be light and to be easy on the lawn. The weight limit has affected the battery the most, therefore Automowers only last for about 45-50 minutes before they need to go back to their chargers. The small batteries can be charged quickly but the short working time and the frequent charges have their disadvantages. Husqvarna tried to address the issue, and added a solar panel to the Automower, creating a new model the Solar Hybrid.

Two robots for pet owners and one for small offices were added to the popular iRobot Roomba robotic vacuum cleaner line today. It is said to be able to do a better job collecting pet hair, kitty litter or dander. The main part of the robot is identical to the iRobot 530. The Roombe 532 Pet is available immediately for $349, and comes with two virtual walls and an extra set of brushes.

iRobot licenses underwater robotic technology

Seagliders are not exactly designed for household use, but they got a new mentor today. iRobot has announced today that they signed a licensing agreement with UW TechTransfer at Washington University to use the Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) Seaglider technology in iRobot's commercially available underwater robots. Seagliders are used on long autonomous missions to collect all kind of scientific data in the ocean.

iRobot adds two new pool cleaning robots to the Verro line

Head enough of the winter, waiting for the warmer days to clean and get the pool ready for summer? iRobot announced today two additional pool cleaning robots to the current Verro line. iRobot Verro 100 is designed for flat bottom, above ground pools, where it can autonomously move around and vacuum debris off the ground. The Verro 500 which came to be the top of the Verro line can crawl all surfaces, cleaning both the bottom and the walls of the pool. It sports rubber rollers that brush and power-scrub the surfaces while the robot is vacuuming the debris.
